Dr. Jaren Martin earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2025 after completing his undergraduate studies in Biology at Saint John’s University.
Jaren’s passion for animals began at an early age and grew into a fascination with animal biology, zoology, and medicine. During college, he worked as a zookeeper at Hemker Park & Zoo, where he cared for a wide variety of species while helping educate the public about animal health, welfare, and conservation. This experience sparked a deeper passion for medicine, education, and advocacy.
While attending veterinary school, Jaren discovered his passion for emergency medicine. That passion ultimately brought him to Allied Veterinary Emergency & Referral, where he enjoys making a difference in the lives of pets and the families who love them while continuing to grow as a clinician.
Jaren values the opportunity to connect with people from all walks of life and believes the human-animal bond is one of the most meaningful aspects of veterinary medicine. Reflecting on his career, he shares, “Every day I get to make a difference in the lives of pets and the families who love them. Working with animals has taught me more about being human than I ever could have imagined.”
