Dr. Amber Wolf-Ringwall is a board-certified veterinary medical oncologist. She attended Colorado State University (CSU) where she received her BS and PhD degrees in Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Wolf developed a passion for veterinary oncology and cancer research when her two young dogs developed lymphoma during her PhD training, which led her to pursue veterinary school. She received her veterinary degree from CSU in 2014 and completed a one-year rotating internship at North Carolina State University. She then completed a 3-year medical oncology residency at the CSU Flint Animal Cancer Center.
Dr. Wolf moved to Minnesota in 2018 to join the oncology team at the University of Minnesota. She served as a clinical assistant professor, enjoying roles in teaching, research, and leadership as the section head of the clinical oncology service. In 2023, Dr. Wolf explored various locum opportunities around the country in both academia and private practice to broaden her perspective and gain real-world experience. She then had the honor of joining the Red River Animal Emergency Hospital & Referral Center in Fargo to establish the first veterinary oncology practice for pets in her home state of North Dakota.
Dr. Wolf has a special interest in hematologic cancers such as lymphoma/leukemia, cytology and molecular diagnostic tests, clinical trials, comparative oncology, and in helping families navigate their pet’s cancer journey. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their dogs Violet and Sisu, hiking and enjoying nature, traveling, cheering on the Denver Broncos, watching Formula 1 races, attending concerts, and exploring the Twin Cities with family and friends.
