Urgent Care for Dogs and Cats at Allied

Urgent care is provided for pets experiencing an illness or injury that can be treated on an outpatient basis and is not thought to be life-threatening. If you are unable to bring your pet to your primary care veterinarian, urgent care can be a good option.

Emergency services are available for pets with more serious conditions that can’t or shouldn’t wait. Similar to a human emergency room, patients are triaged upon arrival so that those needing immediate attention are seen first. All of our hospitals welcome patients for emergency or urgent veterinary care.

To help you determine your pet’s needs, the comparison chart in the section below may be useful. Please call the nearest Allied location if we may be of assistance.

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Urgent Care for Pets

What happens if an urgent situation becomes an emergency?

At our Brooklyn Park location, we have separate urgent care and emergency departments to help expedite care for both. If your pet needs to be admitted to the hospital or is experiencing something more serious, our emergency team will take over. At our other locations, all patients are triaged upon arrival and seen according to the severity of their condition. Critical cases will always take priority over more stable patients.

Because we have a team dedicated to urgent care patients only (at Brooklyn Park), we are able to expedite care for pets that can be treated on an outpatient basis. At our other locations, all patients are triaged upon arrival and seen according to the severity of the condition. Critical cases will always take priority over more stable patients.

All of our locations can accommodate walk-ins, though we recommend giving us a call to learn more about your pet’s situation and give you an estimated wait time.

If no appointments are available for urgent treatment, we can always see your pet through our emergency department, which is open 24/7 in Brooklyn Park, Minneapolis, and Eau Claire to provide care as needed. Eden Prairie and Rochester have overnight and weekend hours.
