Dr. Mejrema Korman earned both her bachelor’s degree in animal science and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota, completing her DVM in 2026. She practices emergency medicine at Allied’s Minneapolis, Brooklyn Park, and Hugo hospitals. Her professional interests include animal behavior and providing a spectrum of care that reflects the individual needs of each patient and family.
Originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Korman immigrated to the United States with her family as a war refugee. Caring for stray animals in her community inspired her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian. Having grown up between two cultures, she values the unique backgrounds, experiences, and circumstances of every family and pet she has the opportunity to care for.
Outside of work, Dr. Korman enjoys birding, mushroom foraging, gardening, and tending to her chickens, often with her husband and their Australian Shepherd, Zinan, by her side.
